Visual Soliloquy #531 All before my little room; And in my flower-beds, I think, Smile the carnation and the pink…

All before my little room;
And in my flower-beds, I think,
Smile the carnation and the pink.

–Rupert Brooke

One of Oma’s favourite flowers was the carnation. She had pink carnations in her wedding bouquet.

    Dearest TA.. I’ve just seen your latest posts and realized your dear Oma has passed away.. My deepest and sincerest condolences to you, Marion and your family. I know from your many posts about her that she was a very, very special person in your life. Also, from those posts I can tell she was a strong, courageous, funny, energetic, intelligent, loving human being with many other amazing attributes and traits. I would have loved to have known her.

    She was very proud of you and that must have been a great encouragement. I will always remember her from your posts and pictures. I found this wonderful quote that seems so appropriate for this occasion in your life and so true – as she was your delight.

    “When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight”.
    Kahlil Gibran

      Thank so you much Trudy for your kind and thoughtful words. It is a time of great sadness and loss but at the same time, a wonderful celebration of a strong, kind, loving and courageous woman. I see so much of myself in her and will be ever grateful for all that she nurtured in me and those surrounding her.

      Thanks-Indeed it is a celebration-we are planning quite a party and we know Oma would love all of the fine friends and food we are gathering to share stories of her contributions to all of our lives. I will so miss her smile and laugh for it shone right into my soul.
