2010

Please take a few minutes to read some of the encouraging words others have written to TA throughout her adventures and life challenges of 2010.

Thank you
This is a little late coming, but I would also like to thank TA for the “wonder-filled”, wonferful presentation in Corner Brook , in August. When anyone asks about the Contact conference, although there were many worthwhile speakers, I can’t seem to get past that part of the event. So honoured to have met you, TA!

Inspiring presentation
I just heard TA speak this evening. WOW. We were a group of teachers completely engrossed in your presentation. It’s not an easy task to engage a room full of teachers! You were inspiring and we learned so much from you. Some amazing messages, reminding us to chase our dreams and shoot for the moon. Thank you for sharing a piece of yourself with us. You have indeed made a difference in our lives. I’m looking forward to reading your book after buying it today. Thank you again!

Mountain of Learning
Hi TA, it sure has been a mountain of learning for you. I am constantly amazed with your strength and determination in all that you do. You motivate me to push myself further … I am thinking of heading back to Nepal next year, maybe try a trekking peak – yikes! Safe trails home to Newfoundland. Kate.

Never doubt
Hi TA Love reading your posts. Soak in Kathmandu and all its wonders and enjoy every bit of your accomplishments thus far :) from being a mentor to others, teaching, public speaker, fund raiser, to training and climbing. Awesome! Cheers

HI from Heather
HI TA, Hope you have a safe trip home. TA things happen for a reason and sometimes we do not know the reason why and we often question ourselves too much over the why. But I think you made a wise decision if you were not ready mentally for it the physical side would have definitely not let you get to the top. The two go hand in hand, just beng philosophical today. Take care. Heather

Still an inspiration…
You are an inspiration to all of us here in Newfoundland!! We have been following your trek up the mountain and will continue the support on your trek down. Cheers to a safe and healthy return!!

Hi from Heather
HI TA, It must have been a tough decision for you to make, but it was only you who could have made the descision. And from the sound of it, it was the right decision at this time. Take care and safe trip home. Did # 215 today. Cold and very damp. See you soon. Heather

Hi from Heather
Hi TA, When I was ready to climb Ben Nevis I had big doubts I remember looking up at it and saying why am I doing this..But I overcame it because deep down I knew it was now or never…so my inner strength from somewhere took over and I did it. I know your mountain is much higher, but I know you can do it, it is something you have been wanting for a long time. Take care and stay safe. In my thoughts and prayers. Heather

Watching in anticipation
The folks at Ridetherock.com (an adventure motorcyclist group) are all excited about your being on the big rock! You make us all proud, we can’t wait to hear what your decision will be about your climb. After seeing one of your presentations on “disappointment” and remembering you tell your story of how bad you felt when you had to cancel your summit attempt, I have been much happier about my attempts at risky adventures, regardless of the outcome. I hope your altitude affected psyche can hear yourself speak and make a good solid decision on “to climb or not to climb”. In any case – we want you to come back in one piece to tell another story!

Hi TA you must keep in mind why you trained for so many years and what your real goal is. I would love to see you carry on the climb but if your inner self is telling you different you need to really think about it. You know there is an angel guiding you all the way. Whether you make it or not, everyone will be proud of your accomplishments. I want to encourage you to keep going you are closer than you’ve ever been. Keep giving us the day by day because your uncle Dave and I are reading them. Bye and Good Luck!!Aunty Irene

Congratulations on reaching camp 2
I cannot imagine being so dedicated to anything that requires such physical and mental endurance. However, we at GATHER seniors are watching your progress with interest and cheering each new goal attained. You must be thrilled to reach higher than you’ve ever been before and we are thrilled for you. As seniors we know the exertion required to just place one foot before the other, sometimes just going grocery shopping is our Everest. Hang in there. We know that you can do this as do you.

Good Luck!
TA, I just finished reading your book about your first attempt at Everest. I am so inspired by your dedication to this goal. If you summit or not, you are still touching so many lives. I am currently working on my Everest, which is to spend the summer in Spain, and your book has helped me realize I CAN do it. I have found your story inspiring since you spoke at my college about 2 years ago, and I will be following the rest of your journey. P.s. no yogurt this trip.

Egypt
TA, Will you receive this? I wonder. Happy Easter, Ms. Easter Bunny. Julie Brunner and I want to know if you brought your ‘ears’ to Nepal? One year ago today, the cafe was open and the Easter bunny was flipping flap jacks! One year ago… I am home from a most amazing journey to Egypt. The world has opened its doors and I have stepped in. Life will not be the same. Egypt, the pyramids brought me to the place where reality and mystery merge. Living life means living with the Mystery that there is so much more to know, to open to, to receive. Much like climbing your Mountain. I loved Egypt and could have stayed much longer. A trip down the Nile is on the horizon-interested?. I have no idea if these photos will come through to you, but so far your ability to bring technology along with you out surpasses anything I could have thought possible, I will give it a try. (no, they will not, but they are waiting in your inbox at home.) I am with you, my dear friend, as you make your way back to a familiar place with such a different consciousness, such a different cell structure, such a different time than last time. I have a good feeling about this journey. You feel strong and clear and I am happy to feel that. I love you, K-woman.

Thanks
Your presentation in Calgary was so moving. I laughed, cried and felt completely overwhelmed at times. I just wanted to drop you a note to tell you how inspirational it was, and that it gave me the motivation I needed to start my own personal ‘mountain climb’. Thank you TA, I hope I will have the opportunity to hear you speak again. Good luck on your climb, I can’t wait to watch your progress.
