Rise to the challenges that life presents you. You can’t develop genuine character and ability by sidestepping adversity and struggle.

    Hi TA,
We know you are perhaps en route….but Mme Nixons Social Studies class wants to leave you a message.
How many kilometers will you travel…hours and minutes all together? Amy’s question.
..We see in our Atlas that Ottawa to New Dehli is 11, 356 kilometers and the flight will take 13 hours and 35 minutes…Your trip will take 35 hours or so…but how many kilometers all together…….We estimate……11,000 St. John’s to Kathmandu…are we close?..
We learned that the area of India is 3, 165, 609 sq kilometers…….
    Have safe flights….4 of them.
Which flight do you enjoy most?
    We know the airport codes
    YYT YHZ LHR DOH KTM
    Class 405 HTE

      Hi,
You’ve caught me before I’m heading to the airport. You’ve been busy:-) Good job finding out all those airport codes. I think I may enjoy the flight to Doha very much because I’m hoping to be able to meet a friend who just moved to Qatar at the airport. I will also enjoy the flight to Kathmandu because it means my adventure can finally start. All the flights will be fun because I have books to read on my IPod and I may even play a few games along the way. I think your estimation of the distance is quite close…I consulted and it gave the answer as 10,652 kilometres. Our itinerary says it will take 34 hours and 45 minutes to get from YYT to KTM…it’s a long way but pretty magic that when you wake up Saturday morning, I will be arriving in Kathmandu!

I love the photo. I remember standing in a similar sort of location in Nepal many years ago (mountains in the distance, prayer flags whipping in the wind). I relate to today’s quote: Rise to the challenges that life presents you. It’s easy to stress out about losses and changes. Sometimes, once you gather your feet under you and put your head down to the task, you find a calm and strength you didn’t believe you could find just a short while earlier.
