Today we accepted an adventure invite from the hint of someone else’s ski track. We set out, wondering where the thin track would lead us, and it didn’t disappoint. We skied over several marshes and visited an “off the beaten track” pond. The sun blessed us with its presence for much of the ski and then it hid while snow squalls raced through over and over again. We were up early for today’s outdoor adventure to bike before temps rose & snow got soft. Biked a great loop through #PippyPark & ended with this fabulous view over St. John’s. Having a dose of outdoor time, we’ll settle into work time for the rest of the day feeling centred & refreshed.Marking our arrival at (what seems like) one of the hundreds of Triangle Ponds in NL :-) After chatting with someone, we saw an over marsh route in this Triangle Pond. We skirted several wet areas & managed to connect the route. I love exploring in my city’s backyard known as #PippyPark & continuously answering the question: “Will this (route) go?” Yesterday it did. Some days it doesn’t. U-turns are our specialty.A lone pitcher plant flower stands strong amid the wind and snow. As I skied past it today, it called for me to stop and reflect on its strength and my own. While outside, sometimes I just need to stop on wonder. After wandering, of course. The light invited the lichen to dance and together, they made something they couldn’t each make themselves. Stop. Slow down. Look. Ponder. Be curious. Be like lichen and dance with the light. Please join me in wishing @wissmarian a Happy Birthday! Here’s to many more adventures near (currently) and far (hopefully). Big and small.TA’s Facebook Page
