We’ll explore the transformative impact of setting clear, actionable goals while TA provides practical strategies for turning dreams into reality. From personal aspirations to professional endeavours, participants will learn how to craft their goals to inspire motivation and drive success. Using examples from her adventurous pursuits, TA delves into the psychology behind goal setting and shares keys to sustained motivation and resilience in the face of mountainous challenges. Whether aiming for personal growth, career advancement, or organizational success, this presentation will equip you with the tools and mindset needed to overcome obstacles and unlock your true potential. Join TA on a summit journey aiming for a future defined by purpose, passion, and achievement.

Here are some of the key takeaways from the presentation:

  1. Accept the Invitation: Clearly define and understand the purpose behind your goals. Knowing why you want to achieve something motivates you to overcome obstacles and stay committed.
  2. Only the Next Step: Break down your goals into smaller, manageable steps. This makes them less overwhelming and easier to tackle, leading to a sense of progress and accomplishment. Practice necessary skills.
  3. Balancing View and Footsteps: Determine the most important goals and prioritize them accordingly. Not all goals are equally urgent or impactful, so it’s essential to focus on the ones that will make the most significant difference. Flexibility allows you to stay on track despite unexpected challenges.
  4. Carry High, Sleep Low: Consistent effort is key to achieving long-term goals. Establishing regular habits and routines that align with your objectives helps maintain momentum and progress over time.
  5. Risk Disappointment: Expect setbacks and failures as part of the journey. Instead of becoming discouraged, use them as opportunities to learn and grow. Analyze what went wrong, adjust your approach, and keep moving forward.
  6. The Bowl of Oatmeal: Celebrate your achievements along the way. Recognizing your progress, no matter how small boosts morale and keeps you working towards your goals.

Getting All on the Same Rope: Cultivating a Team Attitude for Success

Whether leading a small team, managing a large organization, or climbing Mount Everest, this presentation equips you and your team with the tools and mindset needed to get all on the same rope. Creating a team attitude that supports a common goal requires intentional effort and effective leadership. Join TA in harnessing the power of teamwork to achieve remarkable summits together.

Here are some of the key takeaways from the presentation:

  1. Tying into the Rope: When each team member sees how their contributions contribute to the overarching objective, they are more likely to be motivated, engaged, and committed to the team.
  2. Moving on the Rope: Build trust and commitment among team members. Foster a supportive environment where individuals feel valued, respected, and trusted.
  3. Leading the Rope: Demonstrate commitment to the common goal through daily actions, routines, and behaviours. Embody dedication, resilience, and a positive attitude towards overcoming challenges and achieving success.
  4. Between Slack and Taut: Acknowledge and celebrate individual and team achievements while acknowledging the challenges of working intensely together.

“On behalf of the 130 high school students who attended the Junior Achievement Atlantic Conference I want to thank you for sharing your story and inspiring them to find their Everest. Of all the weekend activities, your presentation spurred the greatest reflection and ranked off the chart in excellence. Delegates have even set up a Facebook page looking to others to share their Everest. Thank you for helping all of us bring our dreams into focus.
I would just like to say you are an amazing speaker. I was one of the delegates at the JAAC 2008 conference. It was such an amazing speech. It was so inspirational. I loved it. I bought a set of the prayer flags. Every time I see them it reminds me off your speech and in turn inspires me to seek my own goals, climb my own Everest.”

“I attended the NLOWE conference on Monday and just wanted to send a note of thanks and gratitude. Your story is phenomenal, and what is even better is that you are a gifted story teller who can relay your story with a message.
